- Re: AVATAR rerelease with additional footage
An even more obscene gesture should go with
this if it ever happened: That 2:20:1 mutilation
then cropped on the sides for a TV presentation.
Would anyone have been that dumb? I wouldn't
be surprised.
- Re: AVATAR rerelease with additional footage
"The 70 mm re-issue ... cropped the film ... to a very narrow ratio of
2.20:1" [obscene gesture goes here]
- Re: THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE (no spoilers)
I didn't like it. Couldn't connect with the characters. And it was
more than slightly creepy when he was visiting her as a little girl.
Maybe it was because I didn't perceive any moral dilemma. There was no
struggle. The story had already been "scripted". The characters didn't
have any hard choices to make (except for the babies, and even
- Re: Friday's B.O. 'Alice' retains crown
In article <hno421$ql...@news.eternal-sep tember.org>, Obveeus
Because it is well done nonsense with creative poetry.
Lewis Carroll? No, he liked little girls but so far as anyone can tell
it never went much beyond that. There is one letter where he comments
to Alice about a time apparently her mother walked in on them doing
- Re: BUSH, CHENEY FINALLY TO GET THEIR PINSTRIPE SUITS
I'll pass the word that we now have your permission.
He supported terrorists. He tried to kill Bush Sr.
That's good enough for me.
Now you sound like George W. Bush. Good!
I like the sound of that.
"We will bear any burden, pay any price..." -JFK
That's the price of freedom zipperhead.
Besides, zero lives have been wasted in this effort.
- Re: Alice in Wonderland (2010) --> So many eyes being Stabbed
Transformers 2 made $800,000,000+.
- Re: Alice in Wonderland (2010) --> So many eyes being Stabbed
I have heard nothing but bad things about this movie. All the reviews I have
read have been bad. But the film is still a success at the box office. Why
is that? Are the cinemas invaded by children who want to see this stuff
perhaps? (I haven't seen the film)
- Re: Gay Activism: fraud in ticket sales?
Are you going to do some muckraking journalism and go see The Last
Station and see if you get the A Single Man ticket? The downside to
that plan is you might end up seeing The Last Station. I mean, isn't
The Last Station all over the top and silly and theatrical anyway?
Wouldn't gays like that one too?
- Re: AVATAR rerelease with additional footage
I remember it playing in my hometown in the seventies and sure enough
it did, though I remember it as being later than 1971. A friend from
school went with his mother--back then you could trust elementary
school kids to sit through a four hour movie about the Civil War and
Reconstruction:
"Gone with the Wind was given theatrical re-releases in 1947, 1954 and
- Re: BUSH, CHENEY FINALLY TO GET THEIR PINSTRIPE SUITS
Perhaps you are right, but how did they justify the war? They sent Colin
Powell before the UN lying his brains out. I bet he wasn't pleased when he
found out that he had been used by Bush.
- Re: BUSH, CHENEY FINALLY TO GET THEIR PINSTRIPE SUITS
Nobody ever said Saddam had anything to do with 9/11.
It has been a liberal lie for the past seven years that the
Bush administration said Saddam was connected with
9/11.
- Re: Gay Activism: fraud in ticket sales?
The Last Station is still at theaters, A Single Man is gone,
despite the misappropriation of ticket sales; crime doesn't
pay. A Single Man also had a deceptive trailer that made it look
like a typical Romantic Comedy and not a movie with a Gay theme,
another deception. Maybe word got around not to tricked into
- Review: Afghan Star (2010)
AFGHAN STAR
(a film review by Mark R. Leeper)
CAPSULE: Just as Americans have their television
program "American Idol"" since 2005 Afghanistan
has had its own popular music program "Afghan
Star". It is the same and not the same. The
difference is that religious fanatics like the
- Re: BUSH, CHENEY FINALLY TO GET THEIR PINSTRIPE SUITS
I don't mind people going after Islamic terrorits, I think they are the new
Nazis: brain washed ideologues who strive for world dictatorship. Fine. Get
them all. However, Saddam- though an awfull massmurdering dictator- was not
an Islamist. He had nothing to do with 9/11. He was a socialist, and had no
- Re: BUSH, CHENEY FINALLY TO GET THEIR PINSTRIPE SUITS
Look dummy....Sadamm was paying $50,000.00 to families of
suicide bombers. If that isn't supporting terrorism, I don't know
what is.
The Taliban and al quida are being systematically takes down
right now in Afghanistan and Pakistan. There have been some
good developments lately in Yemen as well.
As much as I don't like Obama, I must give him props on
